  • Plane wave propagation in free space & in lossy media. 
  • Wave polarization - Poynting vector - Phase and group velocities - Reflection and transmission of plane waves. 
  • TEM transmission lines (TL) - TL equivalent circuit- TL circuit theory - Lossy TLs. 
  • Smith chart - Matching techniques. 
  • Rectangular and circular waveguides - Cavity resonators - Surface guiding and dielectric waveguides. 
  • Analysis of microstrip and strip lines.
